Art & Fear Response:
Questions help inform you of something useful. We usually have important questions that we contemplate in our heads but they are never acted upon. Applying those individual questions is what will imply the path in the work. "We have a language that reflects how we learn to paint, but now how we learn to paint our paintings" is different. Universally in school we are taught specific techniques that are meant to applied to our own work. Being alone with our pieces creates a personal connection that every artist shares. To make your work unique and successful you must draw a connection from your life to your art. The things you care about is the only work you can do convincingly. You have to put your all into the work to even have a shot at making yourself happy, if you do not try then there will definitely be no satisfaction.
